The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Preparing for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games

To best support your activity during the major events of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Chronopost is participating in meetings with organizing bodies to discuss the impact of announced traffic restrictions.

Primarily in the Île-de-France region, but also wherever other events are held, Chronopost will ensure deliveries as best as possible, depending on the circumstances.

With 15 million visitors expected, the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games will impact Chronopost's activity.

Authorities estimate that 185 km of roads will have regulated access.

Paris and its surrounding region, as well as Châteauroux, will host the Paralympic competitions. In these areas, blue and red zones with traffic restrictions will be established by the prefectures between August and September 2024.

Below is our plan to ensure the best possible collection and delivery of parcels in these zones:

  • In the blue zones: Motor vehicle access is regulated and restricted. Chronopost couriers will have access permits allowing them to collect and deliver parcels.
  • In the fixed red zones: In the heart of Paris, these zones are defined for the entire duration of the games. Unless there are specific exemptions, motor vehicles will not be allowed. Chronopost will therefore deliver parcels by cargo bike. For businesses with collections in this area, your commercial contact will reach out to find a solution that suits your needs.
  • In the mobile red zones, related to road events: These zones will be subject to specific traffic restrictions on the days of Olympic events and competitions (e.g., para-cycling or marathon paralympic events). During these events, traffic will be very limited. Exceptionally, deliveries and collections on these routes may be delayed by one business day.
Regarding holding periods, they remain unchanged: 7 days in Pickup points and 14 days in post offices and Chronopost agencies.

You can find the blue and red zones on the interactive map provided by the Ministry of Transport on the website: https://anticiperlesjeux.gouv.fr/
